Farthing Downs and Happy Valley
Starting Point: Coulsdon South railway station – car park outside platform 1. Toilets available at the station but none during the walk.
Public transport
If travelling from London, regular trains from London Bridge and London Victoria (travelcard Zone 6) journey time around 30 minutes.
Walk description
A circular walk with a few ups and downs, estimated distance around nine miles. Be prepared for some sections of footpaths which are liable to be muddy. The route will cross Farthing Downs and pass through the village of Netherne-on-the-Hill before heading towards and along part of the North Downs where we plan to stop for a picnic lunch. The afternoon section continues along the North Downs until heading towards Chaldon and Happy Valley, after which we will return to Farthing Downs and back to Coulsdon South.
Lunch - bring your own picnic lunch, drinks etc. The walk is largely rural and there are no shops or cafés en route.

9 August Rowlands Castle to Petersfield, Sussex 10 miles
Linear walk of 10 miles from Rowlands Castle railway station to Petersfield railway station.
Meet at 10.15 am for 10.30 am start at Rowlands Castle station. Free parking on side roads.
Route is along Staunton Way to Buriton and then along Hangars Way.
Picnic lunch on route with refreshments afterwards in Petersfield.

Starting point:
Wotton village hall car park (behind Wotton Hatch public house), Guildford Road. Wotton Hatch is on the A25, approximately 3 miles west of Dorking,

Walk description:
A hilly, circular walk. Some sections are likely to be muddy due to recent heavy rain, The morning section passes through the hamlets of Friday Street, with its scenic millpond, and Abinger Bottom. Our route gradually climbs to the top of Leith Hill (the highest point in Surrey), with lovely views. The afternoon section of the walk crosses Coldharbour Common, Dukes Warren and follows a section of the Greensand Way through the hamlet of Broadmoor back to to Wotton.
Lunch:
Please bring a picnic lunch.
The hole in the wall cafe at Leith Hill tower serves hot drinks, soup, snacks and lovely homemade cakes.
End of the walk:
Hot and cold drinks are available at Wotton Hatch pub.
Public transport:
The nearest railway station to the start of the walk is Dorking. South Western and Southern run trains to Dorking and there is a direct bus service from Dorking station to Wotton. From Stop 2 Station approach, catch the 32 bus to to Wotton Hatch. The 32 bus departs Dorking at 09:56, arriving at Wotton Hatch at 10:12.
